Dr Nigel Newton – university lecturer & CLP Executive Officer

“It really matters who becomes our next candidate. I could only support someone who I felt genuinely cared about us folks here in north Swindon. I’ve met too many people who were just after the MP badge.
With Ravi, we really have an authentic candidate. Someone who will be able to beat Tomlinson on every front. Someone who when elected will put the people of North Swindon first.
Ravi has the skills to make an excellent MP. He listens, thinks about issues intelligently, and is always well-balanced in his opinions. I’ve met few people quite as willing to get stuck in as Ravi! He works hard to solve problems and help people. Ravi has never been afraid to challenge unfairness and injustice. He communicates effectively with conviction and clarity. As our MP, Ravi will do a fantastic job of serving north Swindon in parliament.
But there is something else equally important, and that’s personal integrity. Ravi has been a lifelong Labour supporter. He genuinely cares for people and is committed to ensuring we all live in a better
town and country. Honesty and courage are also combined in Ravi, qualities that will make him a formidable political opponent to the Tories.
I urge all members to get behind Ravi and vote for him to be our next parliamentary candidate!”

Jay Kumar – Labour member and Principal engineer in Telecommunication sector

I’m a principal engineer and I design electronics for communication networks. I met Ravi at one of the Labour events and was struck by his enthusiasm for helping people with their issues across all walks of the society promoting fairness. Whether it was helping the elderly or people with disabilities or simply litter picking he came across as a passionate and caring person. Although not from Swindon originally, he has made Swindon his home and actively engages in local community issues. His background in IT, business and education along with the other qualities I mentioned makes him an excellent candidate for representing and bettering North Swindon as a MP.

Mohammad Khatib – CLP Executive Officer and Telecom Consultant

Undoubtedly, the first step to win any General election is to put up a suitable and most competent candidate.
Ravi Venkatesh is one such candidate for our North Swindon Parliamentary Constituency.
I know Ravi since last several years, and came to know him more as he was putting up a brave fight for Priory Vale Local election.
Ravi is a community champion. Be it employment, town regeneration, health & social care, education and other issues, I have always seen his enthusiasm and acumen to be a strong voice for the voiceless.
I am delighted to endorse him as Labour Party candidate and I am sure he will make an excellent MP to bring back Swindon’s lost glory to its most deserved place.

Ian Edwards – Labour member and Production Manager

I first met Ravi in 2017. In those 5 years he has continually been the most active member of North Swindon CLP. Apart from tirelessly leafleting, canvassing and putting forward Labour’s case to the public, he also does an immense amount of charity and voluntary work such as offering to help those in need during the pandemic. Ravi is always looking to put something back into society.
North Swindon, and Swindon as a whole, will face varying challenges in the near and long-term future and in Ravi we will have an MP that can meet those challenges head on. The ruling tory council and MPs in Swindon have neglected this town and systematically taken it apart over the last 16 years but with Ravi we’ll have an MP that has the ability to systematically rebuild it, reconnect with the people and bring all of our communities together.
We are not just selecting a candidate to be an MP, we’re selecting a candidate to be our Labour MP; and Labour means Labour! Labour means supporting a publicly owned and publicly funded NHS, it means backing Labour’s policy on the publicly owned British Energy and it means that when private services fail, like the water companies have, it means that we need to look at bringing them back into public ownership. In Ravi we have that candidate.
We need a candidate that can not only take on Tomlinson and the tories, but take them apart. Locally and nationally we need to expose their lies and reset a political system that works for everyone. Ravi can do this.
As Swindon’s adopted son, I’m backing Ravi because I have already seen his commitment to the people of this town, his endless fight for social justice and equality and his belief that we in the Labour Party are the only ones that can achieve this. He is a unifying candidate that can represent all of us and all of the people and communities of North Swindon.
Ravi is OURS, and we should feel proud to have him.
Select Ravi!

I will be voting for Ravi because of the way he can relate and understand the problem and anxiety which are being felt by so many people in Swindon due to the out of control Tory governments handling of the economy and the brutal under funding of services. Ravi is on a mission to put people in Swindon first and represent everyone in our community.I have lived in Swindon all my life and feel Ravi is the right choice to make sure our voices are heard.
